Good People Coffee Co
Poster
Project Brief: Design a fundraising poster urging community support for a local coffee shop at risk of losing its patio to legal action.
PROCESS: I visited this local coffee shop to get a feel for its culture and branding. I found inspiration from the brightly painted exterior and murals, its large open air patio space, and colorful menu items. I used the company's existing branding as a starting point for thumbnail sketches.

ROUGH: In my first version of the poster I used the same bright magenta, cyan, and yellow that I was inspired by in my research phase. I really liked how the bright colors drew attention, but the intentional overset text felt confusing and the overlay difficult to read. I also wanted to include more fundraiser information and a call to action.

FINAL: I added an information section and QR code that linked to the GoFundMe in the final poster design. I changed the color of the text to enhance readability.

RESULTS: The poster campaign was displayed on an indoor bulletin board and on the shop's Instagram page. It ran for approximately 6 months and raised more than $12,000!
